In this course students will develop critical reading, thinking, listening, speaking, and writing skills for business. Students will also conduct research, assess communication situations, make effective arguments, work in teams, and present business research and service learning projects to a target audience.

Reflection
This project was very interesting to follow along with, I learned so much from going through this entire process. Finding your target audience, the best way to reach them, and the channels you should use to get their attention was my biggest struggle with this assignment. Once we as a team figured out what audience we wanted to target and how we could best reach them the project was really fun and entertaining for me. Creating a platform for people to go and learn about a disease that isn't well-known is really empowering to me. I feel like with our Strategic Communications Plan and Final Communications Campaign we were able to make a difference in the world. As a group we really wanted to bring awareness to Spinal Muscular Atrophy and I feel like we hit our goal of doing that through the information we were able to research and share through our communication channels that we decided.
This project also really opened my eyes to all the different communication channels we can use. Some we use everyday without even knowing it and others we don't even remember exist. After doing this campaign I realize it truly is important to sit down and think about who you want to interact with and relay your message to. Depending on your target audience decides everything else you are going to do and what communication channels you are going to use. Everybody receives and retains information differently so it is important to first research how your audience does so and stick with that, you will get the best results this way. I really like how we brought together all of our channels onto one platform, Facebook. We took all of our final projects from our informational brochure, donation link, and video and posted them all on Facebook. This is how we felt was the best way to reach our audience and I think we successfully did so.
